Bai Jingting has become the first male actor to have four dramas surpassing 10,000 heat index points across the three major Chinese platforms. Since his debut in Back in Time in 2014, the 31-year-old actor has embodied characters across various genres.
His most recent drama, The First Frost, which is about two former classmates reunited as adults sees him donning the school uniform again. The currently airing drama, which is a Hidden Love spinoff with an all new cast, had immense anticipation before its premiere, ranking second overall and first among modern dramas for garnering 7.5 million reservations on Youku. However, with celebrity divorces and arrests dominating headlines lately, the premiere wasn’t as buzzworthy as expected. Still, two days since its release, the show is proving its worth when it comes to ratings.
Last year, Bai Jingting faced career controversy for his Spring Festival performance, but he has certainly put that behind him. With The First Frost setting a new record of 10,331 popularity points on Youku, it’s now his fourth drama to hit the milestone after Reset, New Life Begins, and Destined. Among these, The First Frost and Destined were the fastest to reach 10K at the time of airing on their respective platforms.

Youku has a cap of 10k heat index but other platforms like Tencent has the max cap at around 30k.

It used to be capped at 10k, however, YouKu has recently changed the system, it can now go pass 10k, kinda like iqiyi so ppl can see which one is more popular. Tencent is 30k+ for it to be considered a hot/explosive series.
