Destined 长风渡 starring Bai Jingting and Song Yi started airing on June 18, and the show already celebrates achieving a heat index of 10,000 41 hours after its premiere on iQIYI. It’s certainly had a meteoric rise in the past two days since the show easily hit iQIYI’s heat index of 7,000 in just 4 hours.
Destined is a costume romance series starring Bai Jingting as playboy Gu Jiusi and Song Yi as Liu Yuru, the daughter of a cloth merchant. Based on Mo Shu Bai’s novel of the same name, the story follows the main couple stuck in an arranged marriage to each other. Gu Jiusu looks down on Yuru; likewise, she also has her biases about him due to his notorious reputation. The two learn to be there for each other as they grow in their respective endeavours.
Bai Jingting and Song Yi were spotted together by paparazzi in late 2022. While the two have not addressed their relationship status, many find it sweet to see their onscreen interactions, not to mention the show has gained praise for staying true to the novel. Destined is currently the 9th series to break 10,000 on iQIYI.
