The future is looking bright for actor Marcus Li Mingde who is now a part of the Hesong Entertainment family. Hesong announced their partnership earlier today by taking a cue from Li Mingde’s name to express their hopes for their collaboration: “Brightly (明) welcoming each other, journeying forth together with virtue(德)”. Many of his fans were happy for him. They said that a change in agency can hopefully lead to better and brighter things for his career. Had he a good company representing him when Lovely Us came out in 2020, they said that his career would’ve developed better.
Whilst still an up-and-coming actor, Li Mingde actually joined the showbiz industry in 2018. The 27-year-old actor made his acting debut in the campus webdrama When We Were Young. Since then, he’s appeared in popular dramas – albeit as a supporting role such as the youth drama Go Go Squid and its sequel Go Go Squid 2: Dt. Appledog’s Time where he played Lingshan. He also worked in last summer’s The Longest Promise where he played the divine bird Chong Ming, Xiao Zhan’s attendant and bodyguard. However it wasn’t until he played Shen Yao in The Hope that he truly shined. Looking back at his career, Li Mingde seems a wee bit stuck playing characters in campus dramas. But he seriously busted out his acting chops as Shen Yao in The Hope. Many who’ve watched his growth as an actor even consider it as his breakout drama.
