Chinese Historical Romance Dramas October 2025

September was already busy with big premieres—The Journey of Legend made waves on the charts despite some criticism, while Love’s Ambition soared past 31,000 heat index on Tencent in just its first week, making it the first 2025 drama to do so. Now as we roll into October, three more costume dramas are arriving back-to-back.

Fated Hearts (Oct 2 iQIYI)

Set during the turmoil of the Jinxiu Kingdom, the drama follows Fu Yixiao (Li Qin), a female archer who has lost her memory. She crosses paths with her old enemy, prince Feng Suige (Chen Zheyuan), and the two forge an alliance. What begins as survival soon turns into a romance woven with betrayal and fated love. The Chinese title Yixiao Suige combines the names of the two main characters Yixiao and Suige.

Love in the Clouds (Oct 8 Youku)

Ji Bozai (Hou Minghao), a convict-turned-warrior, shocks everyone when he defeats the reigning warrior goddess Ming Yi (Lu Yuxiao) at the Qingyun Conference. He becomes the rising star of the realm; and she hides her identity and disguises herself as a dancer to get close to him, turning rivals into lovers.

Yummy Yummy Yummy (Oct 9 Tencent WeTV)

This costume romance follows the Shen family’s unexpected adventures in Yong’an City. Shen Shaoguang’s (Wang Yinglu) encounter with the witty royal official Lin Yan (Li Yunrui) leads to culinary escapades and a charming romance.

Blood River (Oct 20 Youku)

The spin-off drama to The Blood of Youth starring Gong Jun and Peng Xiaoran follows the realm’s most feared assassin guild, jointly controlled by the Su, Mu, and Xie clans. When the patriarch is poisoned, chaos erupts as the three clans battle for power. Su Muyu protects the ailing leader while crossing paths with healer Bai Hehuai and rival Su Changhe.

Whispers of Fate (Oct 24 Mango TV, Hunan TV)

Tang Lici, a mysterious master from a place known as the “Other Realm” journeys across the martial world and the vast lands of Shenzhou. Through trials and encounters, he grows stronger and remains steadfast in his resolve to protect the world from chaos. It brings together an ensemble cast that includes Luo Yunxi, Xiao Shunyao, Ao Ziyi, Fang Yilun, Bao Shangen, Chen Yao and Lin Yun.

Sword and Beloved (Oct 25 iQIYI)

Starring Cheng Yi and Li Yitong, it follows Wangquan Fugui, a skilled demon slayer raised by the Yiqi Alliance, who encounters Qing Tong, a spider demon spy. Her arrival challenges his beliefs about demons and awakens his longing for freedom and peace.

Fight for Love (Oct 30 Tencent)

After her father’s death and a cryptic warning from her wounded brother, Chu Yu sets out to uncover the truth. Disguised as her late brother’s widow, she marries into the fallen Wei family and meets its only survivor, Wei Yun. As they face growing threats and uncover buried secrets, a bond forms between them, despite the taboo of their ties as “in-laws.” It stars Victoria Song and Ding Yuxi.
