The Chinese remake of Nodame Cantabile entitled Symphony’s Romance takes over the slot for Love Designer on primetime as it finally premiered last night. One day of airing is hardly a good enough gauge, but it’s a promising start as Symphony’s Romance brings in the highest numbers for the week with CSM59 ratings of 2.291%.
Love Designer hit a high of 2.229% in the week but it was a rather lackluster finale week considering that the show also brought in a low of 0.492% which pulled the average below 2%. The remaining dramas in the top 5 include Trident, Burning and Heroic Journey of Ne Zha at the 10pm slot.
TV dramas Love Designer and Trident take the top 2 spots online. And the Winner is Love continues to lead the web dramas in 3rd followed by Ren Jialun’s Love a Lifetime which also seems to be off to a promising start in just a few days of airing. Historical romance drama The Legend of Jinyan and the sleek, suspense drama The Bad Kids which has been garnering raving reviews so far round up the list in 9th and 10th. Actresses joining the celeb rankings are The Eight’s Tan Songyun and You Are My Destiny’s Liang Jie in 9th and 10th.

Why Love Designer EP 50 suddenly drop to 0.492?

I think it was because the drama started off strong but then the plot kind of dragged in the middle of the drama and also they added more episodes when the drama was airing so that might also be the reason.

Episode 50 of Love Designer was almost all focused on the second couple, as were the last 5 or so episodes of the drama. Fans were tried of seeing so much of the second couple and hardly anything of Johnny Huang and Dilireba together. In fact, Johnny Huang was only on screen for 6 minutes out of a 45 minute for episode 50… I think that's why that episode rated so low compared to the ratings for the other episodes. Also, episode 51 (last episode) was only 20 minutes long in total, then it went straight into HunanTV's new drama.

Love Designer's rating of 2.229 is not its high during its showing. It had ratings of: 2.495 on May 19, 2.496 on May 20, 2.420 on May 21, 2.565 on May 26 and 2.533 on June 12.
