The Blossoming Love 千朵桃花一世开 is already the 4th Chinese drama in the past year or so to have the word Blossom in it though I suppose “Blossoming” gives it a twist. Incidentally, Sun Zhenni also has a 2nd drama titled Blossom in Darkness though that’s for another day.
The Blossoming Love starring Vin Zhang Binbin and Sun Zhenni brings viewers to the fantasy romance genre we’re all too familiar with. But I have to say, they had me within the first five minutes with that kiss! Till the End of the Moon fans will certainly remember the 24-year-old actress when she played foxy Pian Ran and she’s bringing similar vibes to her role as Mu Xuanling, saintess of the Dark Abyss. Believe it or not, a recent rewatch of Love O2O had me remembering Vin Zhang Binbin had a guest role in that as K.O. It’s been eight years and the actor, now 31 yers old, is still handsome as ever as main protagonist Xie Xuechen, Young Lord of the Snow City. Plot wise it seems the typical fantasy about good versus evil with not the best special effects. First day heat index is average at best, but the draw is definitely the chemistry between the cold, genius sword cultivator and the sexy temptress. It’s a lot of teasing and flirting, initiated by the heroine.
Wang Duo and Zhang Yaqin are second leads here, which is definitely a plus. Also in the cast are Wu Yuheng and Chen Yuxian.
