Blossom in Darkness (十万狂花入梦来), starring Li Hongyi and Sun Zhenni, has officially wrapped filming. Adapted from the novel Ten Thousand Flowers in a Dream by Fresh Guoguo, the story unfolds in an enchanting world where destiny intertwines a ruthless demon and a spirited girl.
Li Hongyi plays Qi Fengyin, a demon imprisoned for a thousand years after massacring the celestial and mortal realms. His brooding presence is balanced by Sun Zhenni’s portrayal of Duckweed, an herb spirit who disrupts his isolation. The pair is forced into a “bond.” They navigate animosity and camaraderie, before eventually finding love.
There’s not even a real teaser yet except a behind-the-scenes special, but the show is already giving a unique Eastern fantasy experience with subtle horror vibes as it combines xianxia romance and supernatural elements. It looks like we’re in for a tragic romance as this is another one from the author behind The Journey of Flower. With Li Hongyi in commanding black robes (the best I’ve seen of the actor); the contrast is striking against Sun Zhenni’s fiery red costumes, which blend innocence and boldness.
The cast also includes Zhao Zhaoyi, Zhang Kangle, Ma Wenyuan with special appearances from Bai Shu, Han Dong, Yao Chi and Flora Dai.

It’s about making money. McDonalds is serving the same old, same old, just in different dressing or packaging from time to time, and everyone still loves it and it’s still one of the most profitable franchises in the world.
You don’t have to watch it if you have grown out of idol actors. No need to pick on C-dramas. It’s the same in K-dramas, Bollywood, Hollywood etc. Why knock a formula which is a reliable massive cash generator?

The English title is mis-translated. 十万 means a hundred thousand, not ten thousand.
