We’ve all followed their love story from the moment they met on the Chinese dating reality show Meeting Mr Right ‘til the moment they finally chose to be with each other. Now they’re finally holding that long awaited wedding to celebrate their commitment. Taiwanese actress Joe Chen and husband Alan Chen married in 2022, except the wedding celebration had to be pushed back. Now it looks like the couple has finally set a date!
In a statement through her agent to Taiwanese news outlet ET Today, Joe Chen confirmed that the wedding will be happening very soon at the end of September, in the place where the couple fell in love – Langkawi, Malaysia. “Joe is very thankful for everyone’s interest. There is indeed such a plan for September and it will be held in Langkawi, which is a good location for the couple. It’s a very meaningful place because that’s the island where they decided to be together. The wedding will be a warm island celebration, and those invited are close artist friends and good friends of the couple.”

Indeed the island of Langkawi holds special memories for the couple so it’s not surprising why they opted to hold their wedding there. As the place where they fell in love, the couple even agreed that if they were still together after a year, they would return. Sure enough, the couple’s relationship was still going strong a year later so a return to Langkawi was inevitable. Except the pandemic happened. Last year, they finally made good on that promise and returned. Remember the Langkawi Sky Bridge where it all began? The couple made sure to pose for some new snaps when they returned last year.
