Spotted attending a script reading for their rumoured second collab Escape To Your Heart 花开锦绣 are Ryan Ding Yuxi and Ancy Deng Enxi. Previous speculation has already pegged the pair as the main leads for the drama adaptation of Zhi Zhi’s 吱吱 novel of the same name. Despite efforts to keep them incognito, the recent photo leaks only served to confirm Netizens were right after all.
Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi previously worked together in 2024’s Melody of Golden Age. In Escape To Your Heart, Deng Enxi is expected to play the lady Fu Tingyun who was harshly punished by her family after being falsely accused of having an affair. With no one to turn to, she seeks the help of Zhao Ling – Ding Yuxi’s rumoured character, a salt merchant who helps her escape.
Although there hasn’t been any news or official confirmation regarding the cast, Fan Shiran and Xu Zhenxuan are also rumoured to play the second lead in the drama which will be directed by The Prisoner of Beauty director Deng Ke – the same guy who directed My Heroic Husband and The Legend of Shen Li. The script will be written by yet another The Prisoner of Beauty alum and The Romance of Tiger and Rose screenwriter Nan Zhen.
