Yang Xizi was recently one of the celebrity participants of Memories Beyond Horizon Season 3. When one of the mentors said they’ve never seen her in anything until this year’s Always Home, the 25-year-old actress agreed and admitted that before the drama, she wouldn’t even have the chance to get on a variety show.
Always Home marked a pivotal point in Yang Xizi’s career, her onscreen chemistry with Zhai Xiaowen gaining a lot of fans. Producer Zhang Shuwei commented that Yang Xizi looks like Tian Xiwei who’s popular nowadays. She advised that “being seen” is the first step to gaining industry resources. On that note, Hong Kong veteran actor Eric Tsang advised the actress not to overthink and to simply focus on her craft.
Yang Xizi has been in the industry since 2013. She has appeared in supporting roles in popular dramas like Love and Redemption and Immortal Samsara and has taken the lead in some dramas; however, they didn’t significantly boost her recognition. It wasn’t until her performance in Always Home that she gained more attention.
