Chinese actress and singer Ju Jingyi just announced as the female lead in two new dramas—Lai Zhan (来战) and Wanhua Sin (万花世界). The former, adapted from the novel Shifu Come Fight by popular novelist Jiu Lu Fei Xiang, follows a once-orphaned girl who becomes a top figure in the world of immortals. Zhang Yunlong has been announced as the male lead.
Meanwhile, Wanhua Sin, based on the popular Tencent webtoon Cheating Men Must Die, is a fast-paced, multi-universe fantasy where Ju Jingyi portrays Su Luxia, a powerful enforcer rewriting destinies across different worlds. Both are helmed by Stellar Pictures, the core team behind the hit series Love Between Fairy and Devil.
It’s pretty big for 30-year-old actress Ju Jingyi, who despite facing acting criticism and also problems with her agency, now that she left is building her career. These new announcements come hot on the heels of Ju Jingyi’s recently wrapped drama in director Guo Jingming’s Veil of Shadows, where she plays a nine-tailed fox.
Meanwhile, Dilireba also trended. For a long time, the actress was widely rumored to play the lead of Cheating Men Must Die live action. Given her star power, the drama drew buzz. Many guessed who would be her leading men, as this is a story where the heroine has lots of male leads. Though Dilireba’s side never confirmed and it was always a rumor, it still led to some criticism towards the show, accused of using Dilireba to gain buzz.
Now that Ju Jingyi is confirmed, the question now is which male lead will be part of the different story arcs. The heroine Su Luxia is a smart, cunning, and strikingly beautiful woman who works as an agent for a mysterious system. Her job? Enter different fictional worlds and punish “scumbags”.

why she always keep getting roles
should be given to more deserving ones

No need to get upset. There are plenty of other very popular actors and actresses who also really can’t act. But they have plenty of “fans” who thinks they are the best and will watch anything, no matter how crappy the acting is.
But to the credit of many of them, they work very hard to really improve their acting skills and you can see the difference on screen. But, of course, there are some who either can never improve any more or who thinks they can rely on their looks forever. I don’t know which type Ju Jingyi is. I have not seen any of her more recent dramas. And of course, I don’t think she has done any “serious” dramas which requires a higher level of acting skills.

Well, another two series down the trash chute lol. No loss I guess, clearly we won’t be missing much, especially with JJY as lead 🙄

I don’t think she is a bad actress, maybe just lacks diversity from the typical comical spunky roles she started off with.

I think she type casted so people think her that way, she always play immature role & low budget dramas and her agency also agreed to cast her in poorly written drama. Also, she didn’t work with any good director yet. I like her acting in some dramas in her earlier career.
She is dropped out student of Sichuan Conservatory Of Music. Without education what she did is really admirable. You maybe don’t know Ju Jingyi didn’t study much. I understand her problem, she need proper guide. Illiteracy matter sometimes 🫠

Excuses, excuses. A skilled actor can turn any character into an interesting persona. A bad actor can wreck an interesting character into a boring persona. There are some dramas with pretty poor script and yet become a hit.
She is not illiterate. There are a number of actors who did not attend an acting school (a few did not even finish high school) but gradually improve themselves through self-study and observation, learning from their peers and seniors, get a coach, attend some self-improvement classes and lots and lots of self-practice. You can see the difference between their early and latter works. If she cannot improve, then she either cannot learn or too lazy to learn. At this age, she still needs someone to guide her how to learn? Then she has no initiative and no maturity.
Did you think being a good actor only needs a pretty or handsome face? It is a ton of very hard work and requires perseverance.

She plays every single role the same (as herself) and shows no true effort to putting any kind of thought into injecting life into the characters she plays. In Blossom is the perfect example since you can see two actresses playing the same character. The other lesser known actress played that character with so much more gravitas, strength, and disillusionment at the same time. JJY just played her pretty self. I gave that drama another few episodes but ultimately dropped it despite really enjoying the first few episodes and liking Liu Xueyi as an actor. I also kike Zhang Yunlong but not enough to suffer through another one of her dramas.

Ummm…I’ll admit I’m not fond of her although I do admit she has tons of fans. These two dramas are definitely a skip for me unless she happens to snag a ML actor that I like then I might, maybe tune in just for curiosity.

despite having issues with her agency, JJY really has very good resources, so she definitely has strong backup.
