Youku and Wajijiwa are cooking up something new – the upcoming romantic drama Summer in Your Name 以你为名的夏天. Filming has already wrapped recently for the Zhai Xiaowen and Wu Shile helmed series. As we all settle down for the long (or short) wait, the folks over in production also released new posters to give fans something to look forward to.
The upcoming youth drama is a Wajijiwa backed production, so of course we can expect to find some of their idols in the casting line up. Series star Zhai Xiaowen being one of them, the former R1SE singer turned actor has already gotten his feet wet in acting and stars in the live action adaptation of Heaven Official’s Blessing which unfortunately hasn’t aired yet. Meanwhile, series co-star Wu Shile who had previously appeared in mostly supporting roles is now stepping up to lead actress category. Whilst she starred as the main lead in the Really Meet Love That Day 当天真遇见爱情 in 2021, she played supporting characters in her subsequent projects such as Mysterious Lotus Casebook and Islands.
Summer in Your Name Synopsis
Adapted from the novel of the same name by author Ren Pingzhou, Summer in Your Name is a story of young love between a passionate Zhang Shu (Zhai Xiaowen) and the gentle transfer student Shengxia (Wu Shile). After a misunderstanding at the beginning gave Shengxia a wrong impression about Zhang Shu, she gradually falls for him after spending time together every day. You know what they say about opposites attracting when two people with very different personalities gradually become indispensable to each other as they take the next step forward together after high school graduation into the world of young adults.
Summer in Your Name also stars Ma Yinyin as the charming Zhang Sujin who gave up her dream for her younger brother, Peng Chuyue as well as Wang Jiaxuan , Lin Xinyi, Chen Jiaxin, Zhang Haolei, Geng Yizhan and Kou Weilong.
