Wu Jinyan is set to make her historical drama comeback in the currently-filming Mo Yu Yun Jian 墨雨云间. The 32-year-old actress who rose to fame in the mega hit Story of Yanxi Palace in 2018 has not been doing dramas in the past two years. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Bai Lu who found fame in recent years and also comes from the same agency has kept busy with different projects. She is also the star of this year’s hit drama Till the End of the Moon.
In a recent livestream, their boss Yu Zheng was asked if he’s being too biased to promote Bai Lu more than Wu Jinyan. The writer-producer responds by saying Wu Jinyan’s market is actually very good. Considering that she hasn’t filmed a drama in two years, she still has 11 scripts waiting for her to choose from. He also shared that Bai Lu’s marketability is better as she has around 40-50 scripts.
Yu Zheng said he loves his artists very much, “Once an actor becomes popular, I set my sights on newcomers. At the time, I put all my efforts on Bai Lu, I didn’t put so much on Jinyan. And she’s (Jinyan) also a very assertive Leo. Director Tian Qinxin likes her very much, she then started acting in plays, next was Sisters Who Make Waves, and after that reality shows.
