Chinese Drama Viewership Ratings (week starting May 23, 2022)

Spring is finally coming to an end, which means hot summer weather is on its way! And what better way to spend the summer than with a refreshing beverage and some C-dramas! ʕ´ꈍᴥꈍʔ☀ First and foremost, congrats to Republican drama Defying the Storm, starring Zhang Ruonan and Hu Yitian, which came in 1st on television with a CSM63 average for the week of 1.3%. Love in Flames of War and The Scale of Desire have ended their run on TV. Both are replaced by the newly-released rural drama Chun Feng You Lv Jiang Nan, starring Gao Xin and Xu Baihui with a CSM63 average of 1.2%, placing it in 2nd. My Superhero, a contemporary romance, follows with a CSM63 rating for the week of 0.9%.

Meanwhile, CCTV dramas Lady of Law and Dream House have ended this week. Taking over their slot are San Quan Xi Nuan, which is yet another rural drama as well as police drama Ordinary Greatness, starring Zhang Ruoyun and Bai Lu. Both garner CSM63 ratings in the 0.7% range.

Also this week, crime thriller Day Breaker finally wins the top spot in the Vlinkage online rankings! Legacy and The Fight are ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Wuxia series Heroes (7th), starring Joseph Zeng, Yang Chaoyue, and Liu Yuning, and Medical Examiner Dr. Qin: The Mind Reader (9th) which is the latest addition to the forensic mystery series, starring Gala Zhang, Tang Min, Peng Chuyue, and Leslie Ma, have also made the web rankings.
