No need to speculate any longer when it comes to Zhao Lusi’s leading man in the live-action adaptation of Qie Shi Tian Xia 且试天下. It appears the rumour mill was bang on the money after all when they called Yang Yang’s return to wuxia. In fact, he was already spotted filming even before the announcement.
Adapted from the novel of the same name written by Qing Ling Yue, the story chronicles the wanderings of Zhao Lusi’s Bai Fengxi and his Hei Fengxi as they travel the pugilist world far and wide in search of adventures together. Contrary to the usual tropes of falling in love at first sight, Bai Fengxi and Hei Fengxi’s story spans an entire decade before either of them even realises they’re meant for each other. I guess a decade doesn’t sound like much in the wuxia universe you know?
Prior to Qie Shi Tian Xia, Yang Yang just wrapped up filming his modern romance You are My Glory, his first ever collaboration with Dilraba Dilmurat. Coincidentally, Dilraba also has a new drama with his new leading lady Zhao Lusi entitled The Long Ballad which is currently airing.

Zhao Lusi is one of my favorite actresses. She may not have “ethereal” beauty but her acting is on par with many of the other good actresses. I’m super excited for this drama! I like Reba too but her acting remains the same for me in every drama. Gets quite tiring.

Unless you watch the drama how can you say that she’s not perfect. Although most of her characters are same but there’s the recenty premiered drama “The long ballad” where she portrays a different character and she’s doing very well. I guess you have heard about that drama since Dilraba is your favorite actress (as you mentioned particularly her name…don’t think that I hate her, I too love her a lot and a big fan of her)
Regarding the matter of beauty I think everyone has their own uniqueness and charm…thus everyone is beautiful in their own way…I think Zhao Lusi is very pretty and she has that unique aura which draws people’s attention

I’m sure the people saying Reba is ethereal is only because of her ethnicity. There are people that don’t find her pretty, her face can pass as a man without makeup. Reba and Lusi are not the prettiest or ugliest. On acting, Reba’s acting is only as good as Zhao Liying. I saw Reba’s acting in The Long Ballad, she’s a total cloned of Chu Qiao in Princess Agents, they don’t only look identical but also act very similar. Lusi’s acting is as good as Ariel Lin and Zhao Wei. Don’t start lecturing people about how new and unexperienced Lusi is. Ariel Lin and Zhao Wei started out as leading actresses right away and were instant hits so Lusi also have the same rights to do the same thing. The reason is too obvious why some actresses aren’t instant hits, they look ugly at first, but they can easily turn popular after successful plastic surgery so don’t be so bitter pple. An actress’s face comes first, got nothing to do with experience most of the time.

Lusu is known for a goddess of costume drama and now one of the rising star that obviously wont let down yang yang’s popularity and when theres a ranking for anticipated drama they were always on top 10(this drama) and the popularity are almost the same or even beating each other with just a min. Of 3 to 8 percent which is just prove that they were both same enough popularity…and as for yang yang his my fav. Actor in China since i watch love 020 and followed his some drama but in my opinion i just dont like his costume drama which he is really lacked for me when it comes to costume but lucky him he got casted by the one of the most popular drama ‘Eternal love’ a version of movie but when modern drama he really nailed it…So dont you worry this is WUXIA drama that a lot favorite it like ex.The untamed.And the fact that the one who handle this is the one who made ‘Love and redemtion’ who got a popularity even the lead casted arent popular but since its good it got rated one the highest drama…Just people stop saying it direct or indirect that Lusi doesnt have any popularity to be casted with popular actor when in fact She is one the youngest chinese actress and climed her popularity in its own after all when you dont followed someone’s identity you wont know what her or his capability…

In what way is zhao not good enough to be the female lead or not good enough for yang yang? Shouldnt judge before the drama aired. She has good track record so far and last year 2020 she even has 2 hit dramas in tencent. Zhao lusi looks ethereal in that hair and she’s got the acting chops, that’s enough for me, on the other hand, dilreba has more of the looks, but looks are not going to carry me through this drama, as I’ve said before her acting needs work (no hate intended). Well personally I find Zhao a more captivating actress than Dilireba.
She’s not super pretty but she glows in her dramas, both visually and acting wise. Loving her performance as Li Leyan in The Long Ballad recently.
Although I don’t find Zhao suited for the role at first, I believe she will turn this role into her own. I just hope the script will not be butchered like most Tencent costume dramas recently.
