“I Live in Your Time” Stars Zhang Ruonan and Wang Anyu in a “Lovers Reunited” Modern Romance

I Live in Your Time (想把你和时间藏起来) stars Zhang Ruonan as producer Shen Qianzhan and Wang Anyu as clock restoration artisan Ji Qinghe. The drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by Bei Qing and follows a “lovers reunited” trope: the leads first meet at the Forbidden City five years earlier and reunite later due to a film project.

While Zhang Ruonan and Wang Anyu are considered well-matched for their respective roles, it looks like no drama can escape billing controversies. The cast announcement stated equal billing, though some netizens took issue with Zhang Ruonan’s name being listed first in all the materials. If it were alphabetical, which is quite common, Wang Anyu’s name should’ve come first. This has led some to argue that the billing is not truly “equal,” sparking disputes between fans of both stars.

Then again, I Live in Your Time brings together Zhang Ruonan, who recently had a huge hit with The First Frost, and Wang Anyu, who has gained immense popularity through variety shows and proven his charm as the romantic male lead. It’s a solid casting overall. Not to mention, the series is directed by Huang Tian Jen, known for works such as Someday or One Day and Amidst a Snowstorm of Love. Can we just appreciate it for what it is?
