The controversy centers on claims that Kim Seon Ho allegedly used a family-owned shell company to divert personal income and reduce tax obligations. Accusations include registering a company under a residential address, listing questionable salary payments to parents, circulating funds back into personal use, and covering household expenses through corporate accounts.

Their agency Fantagio initially issued a statement to deny the allegations saying Kim Seon Ho’s company was created for his theater-work and has already been inactive for over a year after realizing potential issues with the company and after signing with Fantagio in 2025.
On February 4, Kim Seon Ho’s agency released another statement about the actor’s one-person company, established in January 2024. They explained that the actor has returned all past corporate credit card usage records, family members’ salaries, and corporate vehicles. Regarding settlement payments previously received through the corporate entity, in addition to the corporate tax that had already been paid, Kim Seon Ho has also paid additional personal income tax for the income he previously received through the corporation. The actor is deeply reflecting on the decision to establish a corporation without sufficient understanding. His company is already at the final stages of being dissolved.
