Bai Lu Admits Her Body Is Not What It Used to Be, Says Unveil Jadewind May Be Her Last Action-Heavy Drama

Bai Lu spoke candidly about her physical limitations while filming her upcoming costume drama Unveil: Jadewind (唐宫奇案), which is why she thinks it’ll be her last action-heavy drama. The Chinese actress who turns 32 this year and has opened up about health issues in the past intends to prioritize her health.

Bai Lu shared, “Indeed, my body is not like before. If I do front flips now compared to the past, when I filmed Arsenal Military Academy and The Legends, really, when it comes to flexibility, I can’t help but admit I’m getting older. In the future, I feel that my ability to complete such stunts would be lacking. So I hope to reduce these kinds of projects. I think that Unveil: Jadewind would be my last drama where I’d be giving it all, with so many action scenes.”

Playing Li Peiyi, the chief imperial guard in the Tang dynasty, Bai Lu reportedly underwent three months of intense training in swordsmanship, horseback riding, and close combat. Despite her rigorous preparation, she confirmed that the filming pushed her body to its limits, and she plans to significantly reduce high-intensity action scenes in the future. However, she’s not completely closing her doors, but rather, she is still open to performing action sequences, but in moderation.
