Actress Esther Liu who’s also the other half of the Taiwanese musical duo Sweety is married! The 36-year-old confirmed the news and to make her announcement extra sweet, she also announced herself and her husband Simon Lian are expecting!
Esther and Simon who’s three years younger and who was a former member of the band SpeXial, met three years ago when they were filming a music video for Tai Ai Ling’s Unwanted Song. At the time, Esther thought Simon was ‘too polite’ but was pretty impressed by his acting skills. The real turning point was when the pair were cast to play childhood sweethearts in a drama. Both Esther and Simon signed up for acting classes to prepare for their roles, and well, the rest as they say, was history. Fast forward to a few years later and now they’re married and about to welcome their first baby!
Both Esther Liu and Joanne Tseng – the other half of the band Sweety, were just 14 when they made their industry debuts. When it comes to relationships however, it seems both girls have far more things in common aside from their showbiz roots. Esther and Joanne both ended up married to partners with idol origins – Simon from the SpeXial and Joanne’s husband Calvin Chen from the band Fahrenheit. Their husbands are both over 180 cm tall and good-looking, and both couples opted to keep their relationships secret and out of the public eye.
