The actress’ latest attempt to revive her career hit a dead end when all of her scenes from the show were deleted. Yao Di even promoted her upcoming show on her social media so Netizens were pretty surprised when the show aired sans her scenes. But like she recently posted on social media, “life must go on”.
Why this happened isn’t exactly clear, though many assume her scandal has something to do with it. It’s also very possible that other factors such as contract considerations have impacted the decision to pull her scenes.

If it is indeed due to her scandal, it has gotten folks calling out double standards in the Chinese entertainment industry. After all, as many pointed out, why were male stars exposed for having extramarital affairs like Wen Zhang or Chen He able to continue filming projects whereas female actors are still struggling to return to the spotlight? One example is Li Xiaolu who disappeared from the spotlight after her affair with Chinese rapper PG One.
Although Yao Di continued to have acting projects and also went into directing, her once flourishing career has never been the same. Whereas some might be able to forget, there are still those that think what she did, especially since Wen Zha’s ex Ma Yili was pregnant at the time, is unforgivable.
