DJ Koo Mourns Barbie Hsu, Addresses Estate, and Slams Malicious Rumors

On February 6, DJ Koo (Koo Jun-yup) broke his silence four days after the passing of his wife, Barbie Hsu. In statements posted on social media in both Mandarin and Korean, he expressed immense grief, describing his pain as unbearable and beyond words. He also spoke about her estate, stating that he would relinquish his rights to Hsu’s mother and take legal measures to protect the children.

“On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to the sky,” he wrote, thanking those who sent condolences. He admitted struggling to find the strength to speak, saying that no words could fully capture his sorrow. “I don’t have the energy to say anything, and I don’t want to say anything.”

DJ Koo Condemns Malicious Rumors

During this time of mourning, DJ Koo said malicious rumors surfaced shortly after Barbie Hsu’s death. He called out certain individuals for criticizing their family and hurting the memory of his love. He also referenced “a person who pretended to be miserable and ran around in the rain,” which seems to allude to Barbie Hsu’s ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, who was reportedly seen walking in the rain after news of her passing.

“Some people deliberately damaged the reputation of our family and spread fake news about insurance and money,” he added, condemning those who tried to exploit the tragedy.

“Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who mourns our Xiyuan. Xiyuan’s Eternal Love, Junjun.”
