Lelush (Vladislav Ivanov), the Russian model-turned-celebrity who rose to fame in China through Produce Camp 2021, recently announced his decision to leave the entertainment industry. When sharing his recent fashion magazine feature on his Weibo, Lelush posted a heartfelt message: “Hello, everyone. I will officially retire from the entertainment industry on April 1, 2025. Thank you for all your support and love; it means so much to me!”
Lelush is known for his unique approach to fame. He was a contestant in the Chinese survival show Produce Camp 2021 and won a strong fanbase. However, it was revealed he wanted out of the competition, thus making him even more popular for being the only contestant who wanted to “lose.” Lelush is among the attendees of a recent fashion awards show where he reaffirmed his decision to “retire”. The 30-year-old star said, “I will really quit” and that he plans to interact with fans through sharing photos, etc. When asked what he plans to do in the future, he replied, “I just want to live as a normal person.” Upon hearing about his decision, some joked they were amazed he lasted this long.

I wish fans of Deng Xiaoci from YWY3 also listened to him when he said he didn’t want to debut in an idol group. He did it for exposure and ultimately wanted to land in acting. He had little to no desire to sing and dance. You could tell how miserable he was at practices, yet fans forced it on him. Not to mention the debacle that was IXFORM afterwards. All that to say, at least Lelush’s fans respected him enough to listen to him and what he wants to do with his life. Good luck Lelush!
