After Modern Dynasty, Hong Kong actress Tavia Yeung returns with TVB and Youku’s newest revenge drama, Darkside of the Moon 黑色月光. Joining her for the project are Rosina Lam and Vincent Wong with whom she’d last worked with a decade ago in the period drama Silver Spoon and Sterling Shackles 名媛望族 and the legal series Friendly Fire 法網狙擊 so it’s also a reunion of sorts for the pair. Darkside of the Moon is TVB’s latest female centric offering scheduled for a release on October 9, 2024.
Darkside of the Moon Plot and Cast
The complex story circles around Tavia Yeung’s character who has all the reasons to seek revenge against the man who sexually assaulted when she was younger. Previously, the 45-year-old had admitted that portraying such a many layered character definitely challenged her skills as an actress. As a strong woman working in a highly competitive workplace, her rivalry against Rosina Lam’s character becomes intense. Yet privately, she also carries a secret burden where she seeks to extract revenge. Meanwhile, Vincent Wong plays her romantic interest in the show. A stock market expert, they gradually develop feelings for each other despite a not so good start. But the biggest baddie of all is played by Edward Ma whose character the heroine seeks retribution from.
With a talented cast at the helm and a gripping plot to boot, Darkside of the Moon certainly has the potential to become the next Hong Kong series to be a big hit following the success of last year’s The Queen of News featuring Charmaine Sheh. After all, it’s helmed by the same team with Chung Shu-Kai once again onboard as executive producer. Also in the cast are Priscilla Wong, Lenna Yeung (aka Griselda Yeung who’s actually Tavia’s older sister), veteran actor Kwok Fung, and more.
