Derived from Season 1’s post-credit scene, it introduces Park Seo Joon’s character “Ho-jae” against the backdrop of modern Seoul. It’s not clear if he is Season 1’s pawn shop owner “Tae-sang” due to him bearing the same scar or perhaps a descendant. Nevertheless, this revelation hints at a mysterious time shift from the initial season’s 1945 setting.

Gyeongseong, the name for Seoul during Japan’s occupation of Korea from 1910 to 1945, carries its own historical weight. Season 1 followed Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok as they faced parasitic creatures in a Gyeongseong hospital. The season finale left fans on the edge with the destruction of the hospital and Chae-ok supposedly dead (then alive as she becomes infected with the Najin). The need for a Season 2 was evident, but the surprising leap to the present day is truly unexpected.

Aside from the leads, Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 also stars Lee Mu-saeng, and Bae Hyeon-seong. Season 1, comprising 10 episodes released in two parts on December 22, 2023, and January 5, 2024, has left fans eagerly anticipating the second season, with its expected release date in 2024.
