Fans of the Netflix original series Sweet Home are getting another taste of what’s to come in the second season with the release of the official trailer. And from what we can see, it will be even more intense and action-packed than its predecessor.
The trailer opens with a question that many fans are asking: What has beecome of Cha Hyun-su, played by Song Kang? Is he a monster or a human? At the end of the first season, Hyun-su learns to control the monster inside him, which begs the question whether or not he can still be considered human. The trailer also hints at the possibility of a vaccine being developed using Hyun-su’s blood, which could be the key to saving the world from the monsters.
Welcome to SWEET HOME Season 2! Get ready to dive into the darkness, into a world filled with horrors and humanity's fight for survival. Coming to Netflix on December 1st #GeekedWeek pic.twitter.com/Dj0rRIQZSO— Netflix K-Content (@netflixkcontent) November 9, 2023
Far from the confined setting of the Green Home apartment in the first season, the survivors are now thrust into a larger, more perilous, and complicated environment. We see soldiers all over the place trying to contain monsters with the possibility of even killing civilians suspected of being infected.
Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Park Gyu Young, and Go Min Si all return to reprise their roles. It is sad to see that Lee Do-hyun, my fave from Season 1, is missing but it’s expected given how his character heroically died (was honestly hoping for a plot twist or something though).
Sweet Home is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It was a critical and commercial success when it premiered on Netflix in 2020. Sweet Home 2 is set to premiere on December 1, 2023.
