Project boy group LOONG9 has announced that it would cease all group activities effective immediately. The group was formed and debuted on March 9, 2024, through the survival show Asia Super Young. It had 12 members before disbanding: Ollie, Ely Li Quanzhe. Archie, Kong Son Hei, Liang Shi Yu, Albin, Sean, Hugo, Felix, Ashley Zhang, Guo Dian Jia aand Chen Xinhao.
Since LOONG9 was formed, the group had already been involved in quite a few controversies. There were first changes to the lineup and some members were also involved in scandals. Most recently, Ely Li Quanzhe who’s also a member of NEXT made the news for occupying the wrong seat on the train and not moving. Meanwhile, lohad already begun missing LOONG9 activities due to illness while its Hong Kong members Archie, Sean and Hugo have not participated in the group’s activities in mainland China.
On August 23, LOONG9 issued a statement to thank fans and to announce that the group LOONG9 officially cease all group activities as of August 23, 2026. They wrote, “From this date onward, LOONG9 will no longer carry out any work or activities under the group name. This decision was made jointly after careful and thoughtful consideration. Although the group’s journey has come to an end, the story of the boys does not end here. Going forward, all members will return to their individual career paths and begin new chapters in their respective careers.”
