Although she has not released a new drama since the hit series Love’s Ambition, the 27-year-old actress recently held successful “Stay Romantic” solo concerts in Macau, singing live and dancing while interacting with her many fans in addition to releasing her new single. Furthermore, she’s been focused on building her business portfolio through her personal brands. Her lifestyle brand, ROSYDOEDIAN, combines her English name Rosy with the names of her pet dogs, Doe and Diandian, offering lifestyle products inspired by her personal style. She has also launched the beauty brand ROSE AMIGO, whose name blends “Rosy” with the Spanish word “Amigo,” meaning “friend.”
While Zhao Lusi’s business ventures have been well received, many fans remain eager to see her back on screen. She is expected to return to filming in August, ending an 18-month break from acting. Her comeback project is said to be the modern drama As Beautiful As Can Be where Xu Kai is in talks to play the male lead. If confirmed, it would mark Zhao Lusi and Xu Kai’s second on-screen collaboration after starring together in the 2019 film adaptation of Autumn in My Heart. Update: Xu Kai’s side has denied the rumors.

I love Lusi the businesswoman! She has used her recuperation time very wisely. She has turned a negative into a very positive endeavor. The fact that anyone can consider her problematic, because she fought for what she knew was unjust, and risked her career to do so, I applaud her! Her actions not only benefited herself, but also made a stand for all actors and actresses in the entertainment industry weather they publicly acknowledged it or not. I too, can’t wait until she returns to the screen, I miss her talent and presence. I support any venture she endeavors upon. I have read where the Chinese entertainment business is in a rather precarious position currently and actors are having to seek other employment outside the industry to survive. It also seems like we are seeing the same actors/actresses over and over again in dramas, so I find this easy to believe. I know in America, the film industry is not what it was and is in major transition. We may see the glamour of this industry; however, the truth is, it is a lot of hard work and full of challenges. Not to mention very competitive! Not to mention the overly zealous fans. If you do not have professional film schools, professors, management, and studios backing you, financing you, and pushing you to the forefront, I imagine the entertainment business can be very difficult. This industry is a major business. The fact that we are seeing actors/actresses branching out and diversifying their businesses makes a lot of sense. Weather it is Lusi, Bailu, Yang Mi, Bai Jing Ting, Yibo, Leo Wu etc., I applaud them all! After all, entertainment is a business for all involved!

I think Xu Kai’s team dispelled those casting rumors and the new lead actor is rumored to be Miles Wei.
Anyways, I wish her luck. She still has to pay off those contract termination fines so that’s why you see her working hard on these side ventures–from concerts to products to new endorsements. She’s still very bankable and her fans are loyal but she should always remember that people became fans from her acting projects and that’s where her focus should be.

She had 26 endorsements before her collapse on set in December 2024. Now she has 22. She lost money with those concert. They were fan meetings as well. Stop spreading rumors that can only harm her, she’s not the single actor who took a break from filming. Yang Yang , Liu Yi Fei, Wang Yibo and several others took longer breaks than she did.

You are so hateful! All you see is negative. That’s fine. I admire Lusi and I am a business person who would love to work with her, Who wouldn’t???. Don’t like her singing don’t listen -but you must – to be so critical. I am sure the likes of Mischke Butler would not be working with her if she can’t sing. Don’t like her dancing – don’t watch but once again you must -to be so critical. Have you not seen all the crotch shots, camel toes, and butt cheeks on Black Pink. Then I also think of Jo Lo, Madonna and Taylor Swift. I love Blackpink, their costumes are part of their allure to their fans. Lusi has one mishap of a camel toe and you attack her, but that is your intent. Look at all the male dancers and singers and what they show! Look at Chinese actresses and the dresses they wear with stomachs hanging out, low cut, and backless. I think of the skintight dress Dilabra wore to the W Gala. It left nothing to the imagination. That is all business weather you like it or not. You don’t think Dilabra knew that?
I admire Lusi and her business sense. She knows exactly what she is doing in regard to her career.
She is diversifying, just like Bai Lu, Bai Jing Ting, Yibo, Leo Wu, etc. Corporations are partnering with her because she is a good business partner.

What is so hateful about telling the truth of what one sees? Others cannot have an opinion contrary to yours? You admire her – nobody calls you any names for admiring her. I don’t admire her – I find her childish in behavior and mediocre in her acting – why do you have to call us names?
Her concert – she is just trying to sell s**, that’s all. She can’t sing, she can’t dance. And before you go on another tirade, yes, we do watch at least a few songs and dances, a few dramas to be able to come to our opinions. Isn’t that being very fair to her already? We did not simply have a different opinion just to be “hateful”. We have no energy to spend on such things. And no, I don’t watch anything of hers anymore, not even her dramas, unless there is a male lead I particularly like.

I don’t listen to ZLS, but I do check out her live performance now n then since ppl r like “oh em gee, it’s so good”. Curiosity isn’t a crime, n I’m just saying how it is. Is any of my points wrong? If she is going to switch to full on singer n have a concert, I do expect her to be able to sing, not singing a little bit with really loud backtrack 😒 or miming most of the time. Like pick a lane. If u cant sing well, then just dance. For a song that u cant dance n sing, do one or another. I understand it’s hard, if not impossible to do so together, but I wanted to see an improvement, which hasn’t been the case for the past 2 years, if not 10yrs 😒
