Call Me By Fire 2026 披荆斩棘 finale began with 20 contestants still in the competition, with only 16 spots available for the final lineup. Compared to Ride the Wind 2026, its female counterpart, where almost half of the contestants were eliminated at the finale, some viewers felt that the men’s competition was perhaps too lenient. While it’s true that it seemed like there were too many in the final group, somehow, it’s also not enough. Singer-actor Zhang Rui, who amassed many fans through his performances, was unexpectedly eliminated, becoming the biggest controversy of the night.
The 16 members who successfully made the lineup were Xiao Shenyang as the overall winner, Ayanga, Yao Chen, Wang Chuanjun, Sun Nan as the X-Leader, Zhang Binbin, Yan An, Wang Heye, Mika, Cao Jun, Tang Jiuzhou, Air, Shawn Yue, Owen Shao Ziheng, Wang Yitai, and Man Jiang. Xiao Shenyang was crowned the overall winner. The four contestants who were eliminated include Guan Jian Jia Chen who narrowly missed the spot, Zhang Rui, Wang Xiaokun, and Li Guangjie, leaving their fans disappointed. For Zhang Rui, what made the outcome even more disappointing was that he wasn’t awarded a special prize to recognize his breakout performances.

What is this? Even professional singers are allowed to compete? Isn’t this unfair?
