Ride the Wind 2026 (Sisters Who Make Waves Season 7), a Chinese show that sees female celebs compete to form a new group, concluded its grand finale tonight amid controversy and tears. Pets Tseng, who easily became the most popular contestant after her performance at the start of the show, took home the crown as the overall winner. Zhang Yue, who was consistently at the top 3 in popularity won Captain of the Year. Meanwhile, Chen Yao failing to make the final lineup sparked controversy.
The finale once again drew some familiar criticisms such as scores being “rigged,” and even trended over bad singing due to some performances. Some viewers felt Pets Tseng’s team deserved a score even higher than 905; while Wang Meng’s team performance of 872 seemed too low, prompting complaints that the voting results made little sense. Nevertheless, it was definitely a highly emotional finale, celebrating the contestants’ months-long journey.

Chen Yao Trends After Failing to Make the Cut
With the “sisters” so endeared to fans, many were surprised to see contestants like Xu Mengjie, Ulan Tuya, and Vietnamese singer-songwriter Trang Phap not making the cut, especially actress Sebrina Chen Yao, who literally trended after failing to debut. The audience repeatedly chanted her name during the finale, and when the last name called wasn’t hers, some were heard shouting “Rigged!” Online, #ChenYaoFailedToDebut quickly trended. Many feel her ranking on the show was repeatedly lower than expected throughout the season. She had also been widely expected to make the final group due to her strong fan support and popularity.

It’s definitely rigged. Christine Fan has been consistently terrible. But they have to give these senior celebraties “face”.
