On September 8, Xu Kai’s management company, Huanyu Entertainment, issued a formal statement through legal counsel, firmly denying recent gambling allegations against the actor. These accusations, initially shared by online blogger “Huipaishedebaixiaosheng,” claimed that Xu Kai had long organized illegal poker games in Hengdian, even allegedly operating a private casino at his residence.
The legal statement refuted the accusations as “seriously inconsistent with the facts” and lacking any substantial evidence. It emphasized the harm such rumors caused to Xu Kai’s reputation and confirmed that legal action had been initiated against the individuals spreading the claims.
At the heart of the controversy are alleged “evidence” shared by the blogger: a 2021 money transfer to Xu Kai’s then girlfriend, Xu Lisha, and a 2023 clip seemingly showing Xu Kai playing cards in a hotel. Meanwhile, Xu Lisha, has recently launched a barrage of accusations against Xu Kai saying she is only seeking a publicly apology.
Public opinion remains divided. Some argue the evidence is weak and possibly manipulated. Others question the timing of the accusations, pointing to Xu Kai’s new drama as a potential motive for controversy. While Xu Kai’s team strongly denies all allegations, the final outcome hinges on a review of the gambling claims, which if validated, could lead to serious charges and prison time.

Oh..that is new… have not heard about gambling habits in new artistes… But gambling is more common than many knows. Not saying Xu Kai’s rumours are true.

Most Chinese know how to gamble. But mostly, these are just occasional past-time entertainment, at home and with families or friends during get-together sessions, with few dollars stake. Taking risks is in the Chinese DNA.
But organised gambling for commercial purpose, is a different matter and is made illegal. Gambling addiction is a serious problem and many families are destroyed by it.
I hope that this is a false accusation. Unless he is too greedy for extra income, despite the astronomical fees he commands as a celebrity.

It’s strange he doesn’t seem like the type to offend people. But it really seems like someone is out to get him or targeting him for some other purpose. its a shame how thinly supported accusations can ruin actors/actresses.

For criminal type accusations, the authorities will investigate. If Xu’s team has lodged a police report against the woman for spreading false information (which is also an offence), then we will know in a few months whether there is truth in the accusations. It seems Xu has commenced legal actions against her.

Did XK offended someone powerful intentionally or unintentionally? it’s like someone wants to destroy not only his career but his life as well.

I’m confused. Didn’t Xu Lisha admit she lied about the previous accusation and that it was all a “prank” to get his attention. Why would anyone believe her again?
