Bilibili’s costume drama Qingchuan’s Veil of Vengeance (清川入梦), which literally translates to Qingchuan Enters the Dream, is set to premiere on June 16, 2025. Starring Cristy Guo Xiaoting and Zhou Lijie, this is not based on any big IP, but it certainly has all the right elements with a fast-paced story, blending palace intrigue with a revenge story and a teacher-disciple romance in a shorter format of just 18 episodes.
Set in the fictional tenth year of the Zhanghe era, the story revolves around female general Mo Qingchuan (played by Guo Xiaoting), who disappears for twelve years after being accused of treason. She returns in disguise as the strategist “Mo Wang” and takes the rebellious young prince, Xia Qiguang (Zhou Lijie), as her disciple. What starts as a wary teacher-student dynamic soon grows into a powerful alliance—one that challenges court politics, military secrets, and buried truths.
The 32-year-old actress can often be seen in supporting roles from A Moment But Forever to the Fox Spirit Matchmaker. Many may remember her second lead role in 2022’s Love Between Fairy and Devil where she owned the role as a female warrior goddess. In Qingchuan’s Veil of Vengeance, Mo Qingchuan doesn’t follow the typical female-centric revenge arc—she wields a sword and takes action as a fierce general on the battlefield who becomes a strategist. This isn’t a big-budget drama, but if the plot stays tight, I’m in. We know the actress can deliver intensity, and it’s great to see her in more leading roles.
