Huang Yang Tian Tian Ranks Sixth in Beijing Film Academy Exam—Teen Actress Focuses on School, Not Just Acting

Teen actress Huang Yang Tian Tian (黄杨钿甜) just placed sixth nationwide in the entrance exam for the prestigious Beijing Film Academy. The 17-year-old, born on July 9, 2007, already has an impressive resume. She started acting as a child, first gaining attention as young Chu Qiao in Princess Agents. Nowadays, she’s transitioned into leading lady roles.

Along with Ai Mi, Huang Yang Tian Tian is poised to be one of the leading actresses of the post-2005 generation. While their performances are generally well received, there’s also criticism that it might be too soon for these young actresses to take on romantic roles opposite much older actors. With age gaps of 10 years or more, some viewers feel it’s not quite right, especially when the actresses are still in their teens.

Despite her rising fame, Huang Yang Tian Tian is prioritizing school. According to her team, she will not take on any new work before the Gaokao (college entrance exam) in June and is fully focused on studying. Previously, she shared how seriously she takes education: “Maybe people think that as an arts student, I don’t need to take it seriously—but I do. My family values education a lot.” Clearly, she’s giving her best—not just in acting, but also in academics. Fans are also looking forward to her return as the grown-up Chu Qiao in the long-awaited sequel Rebirth.
