K-ent is once again caught in a shocking controversy where it’s hard to know what to believe. The recent passing of actress Kim Sae Ron on February 16, 2025—coincidentally Kim Soo Hyun’s birthday—has sparked new online rumors alleging she had a secret six-year relationship with the actor.
This is due to Korean channel GaroSaero’ recent exposé that has made many claims including an alleged past post of Kim Sae Ron, which was never made public until now, that revealed she had dated Kim Soo Hyun since 2015, when she was a minor then at 15. With the 12-year age gap between them, Kim Soo Hyun would’ve been 27 years old then. Accusations surfaced that Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, tried to cover up their relationship and mishandled her DUI scandal. The channel also alleged that Kim Sae Ron faced financial struggles after leaving the agency and his side was asking for her to repay money owed.
In response, Gold Medalist issued a firm denial, calling the claims “entirely false and malicious,” and announced legal action against the spread of misinformation. The agency also expressed condolences over Kim Sae Ron’s passing, as she was previously under their management.
This isn’t the first time dating rumors surrounded the two. In March 2024, Kim Sae Ron posted and quickly deleted a selfie with Kim Soo Hyun, which drew her much backlash, especially given the success of Queen of Tears. At the time, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency denied any romantic involvement, claiming the photo was from their past agency days.
