K-Dramas in the Friday-Saturday time slot are definitely worth a look these days! The Judge from Hell on SBS just hit a series high of 13.1% for its most recent episode last night. Have to say, Park Shin Hye is back and has the ratings to prove it. The show continues to be a satisfying watch, centered on a “judge from hell” punishing bad guys—a concept that makes for good TV, though it also raises questions about morality, and Kim Jae Young’s male lead’s cop character seems to be doing just that. Many expected the show to break 10%, and it finally did, though it happened just after Black Out, which is on the same time slot ended its run the night before.
Speaking of Black Out on MBC, this crime thriller was somewhat underrated during its run, since it competed with ratings hit Good Partner. Ratings noticeably rose after Good Partner ended, which saw it steadily climbing week after week from 2.8% during its premiere to a series high of 8.8% by the Episode 14 finale. Led by Byun Yo Han who gave a stellar performance, the show had garnered solid fans. If only the ending wasn’t rushed—they could have gone a couple more episodes to wrap everything up. While Black Out never managed to hit 10%, it did land 10th among MBC’s top dramas in the Friday-Saturday slot, with Knight Flower still reigning at number one with 18.4%.
