This is such a random yet sweet throwback moment for anyone who was a fan of the 2008 Taiwanese drama Fated to Love You starring Joe Chen and Ethan Ruan.
Joe Chen recently shared a photo of her reunion with her canine costar which was still a 1 year old pup when they were filming the drama. She wrote, “Do you know who this is? It’s Ji Baobei, yo [little goddess], a dog naturally gifted in acting. She’s very healthy and she turned 13 years old this year. Her owner said that she’s an oldie with a weird temper. [haha] Dogs tend to get weird as they get older because they’ve seen everything. Ji Baobei ~ be healthy [heart].” Ethan Ruan commented on social media, “Chen Xinyi, you visited Ji Baobei, why didn’t you bring me along?”
Fated to Love You was a breakout role for Ethan Ruan. It also further cemented Joe Chen’s status as a queen of idol dramas. She’s been in so many classics that are being remade to this day with Forget You Remember Love being a straight up Chinese remake of The Prince Who Turns into a Frog. Apart from the past versions of Fated to Love You, Xing Zhaolin and Liang Jie are going to be the new Ji Cunxi and Chen Xinyi in the upcoming Chinese remake entitled You Are My Destiny.
