Chinese actor Han Chengyu recently revealed he is married to his wife, who is eight years older than him, and they have a daughter together. He wrote on social media, “Yes, I’m married and have a child.
This announcement may be late, but it is a lifelong certainty.” The 34-year-old actor who has kept his personal life private for years went in-depth about their difficult journey to become parents.
He revealed they had tried to conceive naturally for three years without success, facing repeated disappointment before turning to IVF, fortunately succeeding on their first attempt. Back then, he purposely stopped taking on work to accompany his wife. Due to his wife’s advanced maternal age (estimated to be in her late 30s at the time of birth), she had to remain hospitalized on bedrest for three and a half months to maintain the pregnancy. Yet the baby was born prematurely at 28 weeks, leading to their most trying time as new parents. After 49 days of intensive care, their daughter recovered and is now in good health. Reports say she would’ve been born sometime between 2023 and 2024, making her around two to three years old.
Han Chengyu is known for his supporting roles in Strange Tales of the Tang Dynasty, Love and Redemption, and many more. Congratulations came pouring in, with some even joking that they all look so alike they could never be mistaken as anything but family.
