Hong Kong dancer Mo Li Kai-yin, also known as Ah Mo, continues to make encouraging progress in his recovery journey over three years following the Mirror concert accident. On July 28, 2022, during a concert by the Cantopop boy band, a massive LED screen suspended above the stage fell mid-performance and crashed onto performers below.
The incident left Mo Li with severe spinal injuries and paralysis, requiring long-term treatment and intensive therapy to regain mobility. Updates have come both from his devoted father, a reverend who has consistently spoken about his son’s condition, and more recently from Mo himself.
In his most recent update, Mo Li, who has shown further improvement by regaining mobility in his hands, is now able to navigate his electric wheelchair on his own. In a lighthearted clip, where he described himself as a “90% introvert,” he turns a corner, notices a camera, and shyly backs away. He also wrote in the caption, “Extra motivation to train for driving: To get away from the crowd 🫥.” Many are happy to see him in good spirits, and his recovery journey has drawn an outpouring of support from followers.
