Song Kang and Kim So Hyun may be reuniting after five years to headline the new drama White Scandal (literal title). It will only be official once both sides confirm. However, just the potential for a reunion has everyone buzzing with excitement, as the two stars could be working together again after Love Alarm. Both actors’ agencies have responded that they are “positively reviewing” the offer. If finalized, this would mark Song Kang’s first romance drama following his military discharge in 2025.
White Scandal is adapted from a web novel by Moon Chae Ah and centers around a contract romance mixed with a chaebol mystery setup. The story follows former child star Ji Eun-seol (Kim So-hyun), who falls from grace after taking the blame for her brother and hitting rock bottom. She later switches careers and becomes a manager, only to reunite with top actor Dan Yi-hyuk (Song Kang).
Song Kang’s character is the illegitimate son of the NB Group and a top star. In order to secure his inheritance rights, he proposes a contract relationship. Together, they begin unraveling long-buried secrets surrounding the conglomerate. Yes, the chaebol storyline may sound cliché, but when done right, it never really gets old. Kim So-hyun’s character, on the other hand, goes from child actress to struggling manager.
Fans of the pairing are especially vocal, saying this collaboration could finally “make up” for their unresolved chemistry in Love Alarm. This time around, everyone’s asking for just one thing: it better have a happy ending. The drama is said to be directed by Kim Cheol-kyu, known for Flower of Evil, while the script will be written by Kim Ga-eun, who penned Call It Love. Production preparations are reportedly moving forward quickly.
