Amid recent controversies surrounding Legend of Zang Hai actor Zhou Qi, his studio has released yet another statement to deny accusations such as “cheating” and “privately contacting fans.” They did not address rumors about Zhou Qi’s alleged romantic relationship with actress Julia Xiang Hanzhi though the silence is being seen as an indirect confirmation. However, many of her fans are demanding they breakup.
What Happened?
Zhou Qi’s statement about “no cheating” is in response to the chat records released by influencer Si Xiaodi who recently rocked the industry with allegations affecting several stars. The chat allegedly showed Zhou Qi discussing plans to meet her, including questioning why he was contacting her while being with Xiang Hanzhi. His studio explained that what was shown “does not align with the true situation and maliciously misled public opinion, severely damaging Mr. Zhou Qi’s reputation.” Legal action is already being taken and they ask the public to view online information rationally.
Meanwhile, a “fansite owner” who claims to have left the fandom also made accusations. Claims that “Zhou Qi used a private account to contact fans” resurfaced. His studio responded that the allegations were already proven false back in 2019. The account shown in the screenshots has no connection to him.
Zhou Qi Studio Did Not Deny Romance with Julia Xiang
The alleged chat records on December 19th coincided with the time Zhou Qi and Xiang Hanzhi were papped together. On December 18/19, the actress was spotted staying overnight at Zhou Qi’s home. The two attended an awards show and returned home together. Her side has remained silent, but her Weibo has been flooded with comments urging her to break up, as fans worry that her rising career since A Little Mood for Love could be affected.
Despite his studio’s statement, some were dissatisfied with Zhou Qi Studio simply calling the chat records “untrue” without addressing the seemingly overlapping timeline.
UPDATE Jan 5: Her Agency Responds
Julia Xiang’s agency Beijing Kaila Pictures responded on behalf of the actress by reposting her photos and the caption, “single, busy working.” Zhou Qi, Xiang Hanzhi breakup subsequently trended on the hot search.
