While that number may seem modest next to top Chinese celebrities who boast 10, 20 or 30 million followers, it’s still a testament to the actor’s rising popularity after his role as Jin Zhao in Speed and Love. For context, popular actress Esther Yu, his co-star in the drama has 4.8 million followers. Outside of China, their drama also made the list as one of the buzzier C-dramas on international platforms in 2025.
On paper, Speed and Love leans into a familiar setup: the innocent girl and the bad boy, but it gave the story a glossy, romantic feel reminiscent of beloved Taiwanese idol dramas. Esther Yu brought her usual cutesy self, while He Yu, was hotness personified as the rugged racer in Thailand. The 29-year-old actor may be thinking just that with his most recent post.
