Three years after disappearing from the public eye following allegations of solicitation, disgraced actor Li Yifeng is once again trending after news of his company being fined RMB 210 million (~ US$ 29.3 million) surfaced.
In 2022, the 38-year-old was detained by Beijing police following multiple reports of soliciting prostitutes. According to their 2022 statement, Beijing Police said the person detained (under the name Li) confessed to the illegal act of visiting prostitutes multiple times and has been placed under administrative detention per the law.
However, it appears the law is not yet done with him as he’s now being forced to pay fines as a result of his actions. According to reports, Li Yifeng and the affiliated companies he invested in were recently subject to court mandated payments amounting to approximately RMB 210 million. Netizens and disappointed fans meanwhile took to social media with their reactions. “You once had a bright future ahead of you …” Another expressed dismay over getting news about him after all this time and it had to be about this.
Despite his fall from grace, many of Li Yifeng’s fans continue to support him. Last year, the actor secretly opened a private account on social media which quickly hit a record with the number of shares online. However, much like his original accounts which were quickly shut down, his new account was blocked after only six days. In April, fans specially flew in to Thailand to attend his solo concert, lighting up the venue in a sea of green lights – his signature colour, to show their support.

Hahaha. I have the same sentiments as you, even about his acting ability. I wondered too about those fans – either they refused to believe the truth or they are perfectly fine with those kinds of behavior – habitual soliciting prostitutes, close associates of Kris Wu & Suengri, both convicted for various sexual offences including pimping and underaged girls, hit & run incident.

that being said, at least he used prostitute services and didn’t cheat on his gfs. on the immoral scale, he’s low, but not as low as others. and then there are those that says they don’t care he hired escorts because that’s his private life and they only concern themselves with his acting lol

I heard that in China prostitution is illegal but “salon” is still legally opened in disguised as a normal business only to provide paid sex. There have been people who reported even seeing police go to these “salons” to get “haircut” (sex in disguised). If LYF crime is just paid for sex, I don’t see why fans should stop supporting him. I mean it’s illegal but these women are providing sex services for money. It’s not something immoral and some country even legalized sex so ultimately who cares if he need some sex and paid for it?

but on the scale of morality, at least he’s paying for services and not cheating on his partners, which frankly puts him higher on the totem pole than others.
I’m still not a fan, and don’t agree with his actions, but if people can accept cheaters, then he should also be allowed back into the fold.
