Dee Girls Talk show host Sandy Wu is in a bit of a bind after a viral clip of her literally stepping on Chinese singer-actor Liu Yuning’s photo angered many of his fans. Despite an apology from the show’s team, there was just no calming the firestorm of angry fans out for blood. Later, Sandy personally apologised for her actions: “I absolutely bear no ill will towards Liu Yuning, but I got carried away by the moment. This is a mistake and I take full responsibility.”
Because folks pointed out co-host Patrick Liu reminded them of A Dream Within a Dream star Liu Yuning, the Dee Girls Talk team cheekily used his photo to represent Patrick for their Q&A. Nothing wrong with that except things started to get out of hand when Sandy, who was dissatisfied with his answer, proceeded to take “Patrick’s photo” from the board and started stepping on it. Her move unfortunately broke “Patrick’s head” which in actuality is Liu Yuning’s .

The clip has since gone viral, angering many of the actor’s fans who left comments blasting her action. “It’s extremely uncivilized. No one’s photo deserves to be stepped on.” Another commenter questioned whether she’s even equalified to take on the burden of carrying a show: “I can only say that she’s uneducated and yet she still wants to be a host. Is she even qualified?”
Sandy Wu Apologises for Her Blunder

In her statement addressed to Liu Yuning and many of his fans, Sandy said she was sorry for her inappropriate words and actions. “The special visual design of the set that day, coupled with my lack of consideration and inappropriate jokes failed to take into account the feelings of the audience. This (her actions) caused a lot of anger and discomfort, and for that, I am sorry.” She added that it wasn’t her intention to insult the actor as she had no ill feelings for Liu Yuning. She got carried away and said she takes full responsibility for the thoughtless act. “I will not forget this experience and will use it as a reminder to be more prudent in my words and behaviour.”

I am genuinely asking: is it that big of a deal? I don’t watch Liu Yuning’s shows but from clips here and there that I’ve seen of his lives, he’s a pretty humble and laid back dude. He’ll likely shrug it off. i find it funny that his fans are more prone to taking offense by this than him lol

First, it’s super rude to be stepping on ppl’s portrait in Chinese culture. It shows a family’s upbringing. Second, Liu is not part of the show, they used his image without consent .

No one likes someone stepping on his or her picture. it’s a very poor judgment on her part.

Even if it may seem like its not a big deal, it’s still disrespectful to do that to someone’s photo. I would feel some type of way too if it was my photo being stepped on in that way. smh.

It’s not like it was an accident. She stepped on it on purpose. Even if that’s a picture of her costar instead of LYN, it’s still super rude and condescending. I don’t find this funny at all if that’s what she’s going for.
