Deep Affection Eyes 深情眼 is another adaptation based on a novel by Er Dong Tu Zi is making its way to the small screen. Filming lasted around four months from December 10, 2024 to March 6, 2025, and it haas already scheduled to premiere on July 21, 2025, airing simultaneously on Mango TV and televised on Hunan TV.
Zhang Yuxi and Bi Wenjun’s Age-Gap
Directed by Shawn Zhang Xiao’an, Deep Affection Eyes is led by Zhang Yuxi and Bi Wenjun. The 34-year-old actress is 6 years older than her leading man, which fits the “older woman-younger man” trope in the drama. Where the two meet with a hint of hostility and attraction. She calls him “didi” (younger brother) at first but he demands to be called “gege” (older brother). The cast also includes Zhang Xiaowan, Liu Runnan, Dai Yunfan, Wang Ke and Huang Tingting.
Plot Summary: Romance, Mystery, and Healing
Over thirty and facing setbacks in her career, Ye Meng quits her job and returns to her hometown, hoping to start a peaceful life in a small town. By chance, she meets Li Jinyu, a man with soulful eyes, whose mysterious and cold demeanor draws her in. As their paths cross more frequently, Ye Meng is moved by the hardships Li Jinyu has endured and warmly offers her help. In turn, Li Jinyu begins to open up under Ye Meng’s persistent care, becoming more confident and cheerful. Their mutual support blossoms into a healing and hard-won romance. However, the sudden appearance of a ring shatters their tranquility, and the long-buried mystery surrounding Ye Meng’s mother’s death gradually comes to light.
The story arc follows a fairly predictable pattern, but if you’ve seen the promos, it’s packed with romantic kisses and passionate scenes. With two attractive leads and what looks to be lots of chemistry, it may just work.
