Recently, Hong Kong media reported that Jacky Heung was allegedly being sued by MGM China after racking up gambling debts worth of at least HK$ 1.4 million (~US$ 178,345). Today the Macau casino operator has confirmed that legal proceedings against the Hong Kong actor and eldest son of China Star Entertainment Group founders Tiffany Chen and Charles Heung have been terminated following his full settlement of the loan.

Supposedly, the actor borrowed HK$ 2 million as a casino customer, which he then used to exchange chips back in December. Per their agreement, Jacky should repay the loan on the same day. However it appears he only settled a portion of the balance, leaving HK$ 1.4 million still unpaid.

In their statement on July 16th, things took a surprising turn after MGM China said Jacky Heung acted as a guarantor for a third party and that all the money owed has been repaid in full. They also said that whilst it is not their norm to comment about their gaming operations and disputes with client, they felt they needed to clarify the issue following the widespread speculation from yesterday’s media coverage.

According to reports, this is not the first time Jacky Heung has been involved in a gambling loan dispute. In 2015, Jacky was publicly called out by a fu er dai named Dong Dabao after he defaulted on a RMB 1 million he owed the man. The dispute eventually ended in a settlement with Dong Dabao later posting a message saying it was all a misunderstanding.
