The final night of Sisters Who Make Waves 6, aka Ride the Wind 2025 (乘风2025), just saw 62-year-old Hong Kong actress Cecilia Yip crowned the Season 6 Champion. Known for her iconic role in Legend of the White Snake, the Hong Kong star showed that age is no barrier to the stage, giving her all throughout the competition.
The final lineup forming the 10-member girl group includes Cecilia Yip, Wang Luodan (who also won Best Captain), Wu Xuanyi, Li Sheng, Patty Hou, Song Yanfei, Guan Yue, Zhu Xudan, Luo Yutong, and Zhang Xiaowan.
Among the group, Wu Xuanyi, who started out in K-pop before switching to C-pop, said this was her third time debuting in a group. Yet many fans expecting for her to win were disappointed by her lack of screen time. Taiwanese TV host Patty Hou touched viewers with her tearful speech, saying she couldn’t believe she would get to debut at 47 years old.
Not all feedback was positive. Viewers criticized the show’s long runtime, lip-sync accusations, and controversial voting results. Many couldn’t believe actress Li Sheng’s group performance of Tan Jianci’s Monalisa received so few votes. Meanwhile, Li Yitong, a former idol from SNH48, narrowly missed the cut, finishing 11th.
Whatever the case, one message stood out: it’s never too late to dream. Now six seasons in, Sisters Who Make Waves, which started out as reality show featuring female celebs aged over 30 years old proved once again that talent and heart can break through any age limit.
