Fans of the popular manga series Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun clear your calendars because the Chinese live action adaptation of the series has announced its release date on May 22, 2025. Titled The Comic Bang 开画！少女漫, Shen Yue is back in a school uniform as she stars in the series opposite Wang Jingxuan. The drama adaptation which began filming back in 2021 also stars Zhou Yanchen, Zeng Keni, Wu Yuheng and Wang Ruoshan. After a four year wait, fans can catch the series exclusively on iQiyi.
The Comic Bang Synopsis
Shen Yue’s character Zuo Qiandai finally musters up the courage to confess her feelings to her classmate Lu Yeqi (Wang Jingxuan) who secretly turns out to be a girl’s (shojo) manga artist. As a science student however, he actually lacks a certain understanding of girl’s cartoons. However out of his love for manga has kept him going. When Zuo Qiandai attempted her failed love confession, Yeqi mistook her for a fan and gifts her a signed copy and tricks her into becoming his assistant. She eventually becomes his muse and creative inspiration as they continue to grow his team.
