Dylan Wang Hedi’s highly anticipated next project titled Live Long and Prosper 咸鱼飞升 has officially begun filming on April 30th. His part in the xianxia piece had already been confirmed much earlier – this being a male-centric drama and all that, quite like another Guardians of the Dafeng. After many names were teased as potential female leads, Li Qin has signed on to be his co-star. Now that production finally has all their ducks lined up in a row, filming can finally start.
With a title like Live Long and Prosper, you’d think perhaps someone in production is a huge Star Trek fan. Or it could just very well be the motto Dylan’s character Song Qianji can only hope to live by. Tried being the operative word here. For a person whose past life has been filled with cruelty and upheaval, Song Qianji died a disillusioned man. Even his beloved turned against him. After being reborn, he makes it his mission to live a carefree life of mediocrity. He intends to be a “salted fish” (咸鱼) as the translation of the Chinese title goes. Alas, as they say about the best-laid plans, fate seems to have other plans of greatness for him.
Live Long and Prosper is a fantasy series based on the web novel of the same name written by Zhong Guan An Du. Familiar faces such as Rong Zishan, Zhang Yaqin and Xia Meng are expected to appear in the drama.

such a lazy title. I wish they showed more creativity i stead of copy pasting such iconic phrase . I guess they’ll have to change it for international streaming or get ready to be sued. The phrase is patent protected.
