A cartoonist down on her luck and a retired pro-snowboarder who find love and heal each other in the process take centre stage in Esther Yu Shuxin and Lin Yi’s modern romance series Ski Into Love 嘘, 国王在冬眠. Set to make its small screen debut on March 11, 2025, the series released some new fairytale princess and prince inspired themed promotional posters in the lead up. Though I must say I much prefer the super adorable Douyin vids of the pair goofing off. In fact, our onscreen couple has been acting super sweet towards each other during promotional events that it won’t be long before viewers are even more enamoured over what some have already dubbed as their dream pairing.
Whilst Esther and Lin Yi have previously worked together on yet another winter and sports themed reality show Let’s Go Skiing, I do believe this is the first time they’ve been paired up to star in a drama. Can’t wait to see their chemistry in action soon!
Ski Into Love Synopsis
A scandal finds manga artist Wei Zhi’s career in the dumps and her pen name and copyrights stripped from her. Feeling defeated and mourning the loss of her career, she stumbles upon a snowboarding video where she unexpectedly finds inspiration in the sport. As she heads off to Beishan Ski Resort in search of inspiration, she meets Shan Chong who is her coach.
Once a pro snowboarder, Shan Chong was forced to retire from the sport following his sister’s accident. However his passion for the sport never faded. As Wei Zhi continues her lessons with Shan Chong, her determination meanwhile pushes him to return to the sport that he once lived and breathed for.
