Buckle up for some classroom mayhem and shenanigans in Hwang Minhyun’s upcoming action-comedy Study Group. Based on a popular manhwa of the same name, Study Group tells the story of Yoon Ga Min, a student who diligently works to excel in his studies, except what he seems to be very good at … is fighting. If you loved Weak Hero Class 1, Study Group has similar vibes except this one’s a comedy.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m fighting to study”
Hwang Minhyun plays a study group leader named Yoon Ga Min. Although his deceptively tidy appearance and black rimmed glasses will make you assume he’s a nerd through and through, his school records though would say otherwise. Despite this, Ga Min studies hard to make it into university. That is, until his friends are threatened and study time is interrupted. School bullies beware because they’ll soon learn that this “kitten” actually has sharp teeth as he unleashes his fighting skills.
Check out Hwang Minhyun with his bloodied knuckles all whilst looking like a model student in yet another poster released today. In the accompanying new teaser, Ga Min looks totally unfazed as he walks into complete mayhem. With an electric kick that sends a bully straight into the locker and a forceful jab that quickly disarms another, clearly he (and his studies) is not one to be messed with.
The 10 episode long Study Group releases on TVING on January 23rd.
