Have to say, the actor’s aging like fine wine—50 now and still going strong. The Epoch of Miyu (蜜语纪) stars Zhu Zhu in the titular role of Miyu. The 40-year-old actress has been racking up stellar performances, and it’s great to see her in more leading roles.
Adapted from the novel by Hong Jiu, this urban drama focuses on the journey of middle-aged professionals in the competitive hotel industry. After experiencing betrayal in her marriage and losing everything, Xu Miyu ends up working as a hotel cleaner. Her life takes a turn when she crosses paths with Ji Feng, an ace manager. Together, they navigate workplace challenges.
As the series kicks off, we finally get to know the rest of the cast. Li Meng, who played the deranged princess in The Double, certainly left an impression with her villain roles since she’s playing a woman who wrecked a marriage this time. Jing Chao rounds out the main cast. A number of stars join in special roles from Ren Bin to Xu Haiqiao, and Guo Xiaoting—many may remember them as the couple in Love Between Fairy and Devil—as well as Hai Lu and Thai-Chinese artist Kornchid Boonsathipakdee or Gao Qingchen, better known as Nine.
